Park.2
Showa Kinen Park

Refresh yourself in the famous park where open sky and a towering zelkova spread out before you

Showa Memorial Park is a famous spot selected as one of Japan's top 100 city parks. Straddling Tachikawa City and Akishima City, the park's area is about 40 times the size of a baseball stadium.Among its many amenities including a pool, barbeque area and playground with play equipment, a good place to aim for is "Minna no Harappa" (the field for everyone), a grassy area measuring about 400m north-south and 300m east-west. There you'll find a towering zelkova tree over 20m tall.

Spread a picnic blanket out on the grass and take a break. Look at people enjoying various sports, read a book, draw a picture. Bite into the bread you got from "NEIGHBORS BRUNCH" bakery café as you wile away the time. Savor the feeling of freedom from the endless sky and the grand zelkova tree as you are healed by the aroma and crunchy texture of freshly baked bread.

Items selected at "NEIGHBORS BRUNCH": croissant 250 yen, mackerel & dried tomato 400 yen, cherry cheese tart 350 yen. And don't forget coffee for 390 yen.

After being healed by the calming scenery, amble along the canal where five fountains await. Paved with natural stone paving stones, it feels just like Paris. Showa Memorial Park has extensive grounds with an abundance of nature. Not only does it cover a vast area, its nature is all-welcoming and will uplift you whenever you visit.
