Summer

First Day

The ocean view from the hotel

The ocean view from the hotel

Isn't it a beautiful view from the hotel where I stayed, right?
It was like being on an island vacation in the Pacific Ocean.
The island had such a beautiful natural environment and tons of light!
Hachijo Botanical Park

Hachijo Botanical Park

When you visit Hachijo Botanical Park, you'll feel like you're in a rainforest!
The botanical garden has an observation deck where you can look out over the surrounding island towns.
Nambarasenjojiki

And the color of the sea here was fantastic... My only regret is that I didn't get to try any of the ocean activities like fishing or skin scuba... You should definitely try them out when you visit!
Sunset over Hachijojima

Sunset over Hachijojima

Cycling in the heat during the day was exhausting, so we came back to the hotel to rest for about an hour and a half before heading out to the sea again! We just had to see the sunset!
The starry sky of Hachijojima

The starry sky of Hachijojima

No one told me that this island was great for stargazing, so I figured I'd be the first to explore it!
I must have gotten lucky with my orientation or something because within 3 minutes of leaving the hotel, I found an empty lot, looked up at the sky and saw that there were definitely a lot of stars!

Day 2

Trekking on Miharasan

Trekking on Miharasan

On the morning of the second day, we started trekking up Miharasan... Actually, it's more of a hike! It's not a huge hike. It's more of a a walk.
I think it's okay to bring hiking boots, but I would recommend bringing really comfortable, non-slip trekking shoes to be safe!
Nakanogo Hot Springs

Nakanogo Hot Springs

In Hachijojima, there is a public bath called Nakanogo Onsen.
Actually, at first glance, the appearance of the public bath might not seem impressive, but you can see that giantic ocean with such distance and the view is truly breathtaking!
The nature of Hachijojima

The nature of Hachijojima
