Akiruno-shi

The Aki River is the Tama River's largest tributary. The total length of the valley stretches 20 km, reaching as far as Hinohara-mura. Hot springs, camping and barbecuing are popular. Please enjoy the outdoors with your family while still in Tokyo.

Fukasawa Chiisana Museum has that new-zealand feel, thanks to its stone doors and miniatures along the path painted in red and white. There're also many dolls on display in the museum and a cosy area to watch swarms of koi fishes.

Take a stroll in the compound at Kotokuji Temple and embrace the warm welcome by these gigantic Ginkgo trees. Then, overlook the breathtaking mountain and village views from the peak.

Take a traditional Japanese bath, also known as onsen in Akigawa. There're usually foot bath located outside the onsen before you proceed to the tubs. Be treated with sights of greens of Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park at the Akigawathe Keikoku Seoto-no-yu Spa and then cool down with a strawberry jelly platter.
