The first day
To Fussa Station
That morning, my daughter and I met with our Japanese friend at Fussa Station.
Due to our friend's train being delayed and we didn’t have breakfast yet, we filled our stomachs with a meal at Fussa station.

Along Japan National Route 16
Going along Japan National Route 16 is quite thrilling, as the road is filled with fast-moving vehicles, creating a powerful atmosphere. I guess this is a road that becomes more beautiful as the night falls. We arrived too early, and many shops were still in slumber, but we strolled through the streets, capturing the scenery with our camera non-stop. Attention, Taiwanese travelers! This is a great road for capturing beautiful shots.

Yokota Air Base. The American-style streetscape between Higashi-Fussa Station and Haijima Station.
American auntie or "American middle-aged woman"
Tired from walking, we found a small park along the way. There's a pavilion where we can rest our legs, and there are also public restrooms in the corner. Japanese public restrooms are always very clean. I neither rested nor visited the restroom because my attention was captivated by this statue of an 'American auntie'. Finally encountered a woman heavier than me along the way.
Really love to admire architecture.
I'm someone who really loves to look at architecture; I have a keen eye for these kinds of things. On the road, I saw two particularly unique houses. The first one had a beautiful white lattice brick wall, which is full of crosses XD. The second one had a triangular shape form with exposed concrete, but I'm not sure what it was for (seems like it might be a security company)?

A variety of restaurants.
Along this Yokota Air Base road, there are many restaurants along the way, offering a wide variety of cuisines. I didn't capture each one. But according to my local friend's guided tour, Nicola Pizza and Hoop Bagels are both popular restaurants in this area.

Blue Sea Ice Cream Shop
Next to Hoop Bagels is Blue Sea Ice Cream Shop. It's said that this ice cream shop is widespread in Okinawa; wherever there are US military bases, there's likely a Blue Sea too! They've also opened one at Yokota Air Base. As someone who surrenders at the sight of 'limited time only,' I chose a certain limited edition mixed-flavor ice cream. So much so that as I write this, I can't recall what flavors I actually had.
Enjoyed a true American-style hamburger for lunch.
After a morning stroll through the American-style streetscape, we got tired along the way. So, we had lunch at the locally renowned burger joint, Demode Diner. Spent a half-day enjoying the 'completely American' Fussa tour.
Ishikawa Brewery
According to the GO TOKYO website, Tokyo's groundwater and underground water have excellent quality, leading to the flourishing of sake brewing since the Edo period. Currently, there are 9 sake breweries in Tokyo, each producing sake with its own unique characteristics. Ishikawa Brewery is one of the nine sake breweries in Tokyo.
Couldn't resist buying some souvenirs.
Wandering through the brewery, it was inevitable to stop by the souvenir shop for some gifts. Enticed by the words 'Many Satisfactions,' I bought a few wooden sake cups, finding joy in admiring the characters inscribed on them. I also bought some sake manju and smoked eggs to take back home, and the smoked eggs received warm praises.
Kumagawa Shrine
The construction date of Kumagawa Shrine in Fussa City is unknown, but according to available records, it was renovated in the 3rd year of the Meiji era (1870). According to the information, the enshrined deity here is 'Ookuninushi-no-Mikoto,' who is the main deity worshipped at Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane.
Feel relaxed and carefree
I still want to give each of the Seven Lucky Gods an individual close-up, allowing readers to feel the relaxed and carefree atmosphere I experienced at that time. This is a shrine that makes people feel happy and fortunate.
