The first day

Village Hinohara

Village Hinohara

Tokyo is very convenient, much like a metropolitan city, and similar to Taipei, Tokyo also has a backyard!
Apart from the islands, Village Hinohara stands as the only village in Tokyo. It boasts a large expanse of forests ideal for walking and forest bathing, along with some of Japan's top 100 waterfalls. Many locals use public transportation to come here for a day of hiking. If you're visiting Tokyo and looking for a unique itinerary, Jimmy recommends spending two days and one night in Village Hinohara.
Our trip to Tokyo this time was actually a short excursion of four days and three nights. We aimed to explore the city with one day before and after, but our primary focus was on visiting Village Hinohara. We departed from Kaohsiung on the first day.
Musashi Itsukaichi Station

Musashi Itsukaichi Station

Get off at Musashi Itsukaichi and transfer to a bus. The Musashi Itsukaichi bus stop is diagonally across from the main gate. Our first stop is to Kanato Rock

It takes about 20 to 40 minutes on foot to Kanato Rock. The weather was slightly rainy that day, but it felt cool and comfortable. How can the scenery along the road be so beautiful? It feels like a paradise! Fangfang kept asking "Is this Tokyo?"

We came across a small waterfall. Jimmy said that this was the right place, and it was incredibly beautiful. Fangfang suggested walking over there to take a closer look at the top.

After a while, since Jimmy hadn't come down yet, Fangfang decided to climb up for a look as well.

But the road was slippery that day so we did not continue.

I also climbed up to have a look. Unexpectedly, the most beautiful scenic spot was inside. It was so beautiful! As you walk further into this waterfall, there will be an exit. Just after crossing the small bridge at the entrance, you'll find a pothole that exits on the other side, essentially forming a circle. This tunnel leads to the end of a small waterfall. Highly recommended for a leisurely walk.

We anticipated going fishing. After walking for about 30 minutes, we arrived at the fishing place.

You can pass the caught fish to the shop, and they will help you cook it. The cooked trout is so fresh and delicious.

Handmade soba noodles Miyama are very famous in Hinohara Village. The store has a retro feel, with only about 12 seats.

All the buckwheat noodles are handmade on the same day, without any preservatives, making them taste very solid and delicious.

The road from the parking lot to the waterfall is paved with wood chips, making it soft and easy to walk on without being slippery.

Fuze Waterfall

This waterfall has been selected as one of the top 100 waterfalls in Japan, making it the only waterfall in Tokyo with such recognition. The waterfall is most beautiful in winter when the water freezes and sparkles.

The second day's itinerary in Village Hinobara was very relaxing. We walked in the Tomin no Mori and took a bath in a hot spring before taking the bus back to Shinjuku!

Actually there were many people, it is just that Jimmy waited on the spot to take a photo without people In addition, the bridge is the best place to see the waterfall.
