Take the boat to Miyakejima

Take the boat to Miyakejima

We took the second-class ferry ticket to Miyakejima in October, which cost 6,240 Japanese yen. It not only includes the ferry ticket but also saves money on accommodation as we can sleep on board for a night. It's quite a good deal when you think about it! Of course, for a more luxurious experience, you can also opt to stay in the special cabin.

We've arrived at our sleeping quarters for the night! The four light brown squares on the floor represent four bed spaces. Although there are eight spaces here, it's just the two of us having the place all to ourselves, hehehe! Each bed space has a wooden board separating them, although we're sleeping quite close together. At least we don't have to awkwardly make eye contact with the person next to us.

After passing through Hirara Port by car, we were drawn to Kamagata Coast. One moment facing the sea, the next facing the mountains, we're so greedy!

The Torii Gate of Shiitori Shrine

The Torii Gate of Shiitori Shrine

Among these, the place I most want to visit is Shiitori Shrine, which is said to have been buried by a volcanic eruption. I originally thought that behind the torii gate was Shiitori Shrine.
Later, I found out it wasn't, and there's a hidden path we have to take to get there. It's so mysterious and intriguing, what an interesting shrine!

We decided to use the bread for lunch. It's too hot, let's grab a coffee first!
In fact, Cafe 691 is very close to Ako Post Office, which is near our accommodation. It looks like a very charming original coffee shop!
