Lunch

Lunch

After taking a boat from Shikinejima to Shinjima, we indulged in a sumptuous lunch. Due to a tight schedule and to complete the shooting, we opted for a direct drive instead of bicycling on the new island.
Nishimamura Museum

Nishimamura Museum

Our first stop was the Nishimamura Museum. The white triangle we noticed on our way here in the car turned out to be the roof of this museum.
Nishimamura Museum

Nishimamura Museum

The museum delves into the culture and history of Niijima, which used to be a fishing port. Given that Hong Kong also has a history as a fishing port, it felt somewhat familiar. The museum also provides an introduction to the beach sand and features local products for sale

Yunohama open-air hot spring

Yunohama open-air hot spring

This open-air hot spring resembles a historic site, operating 24 hours a day and is free to access. If you visit at night, you can experience a hot spring bath under a canopy of stars. The facility offers various types of hot springs. For now, let’s start by soaking our feet in the foot bath.

Yunohama open-air hot spring

Yunohama open-air hot spring

I couldn't see clearly last night, so I went there one more time the next morning to see what the Yunohama open-air hot spring was like during the day. You can clearly see the foot bath and the place to soak the whole body. If you take a dip during the day, you can clearly see the sea view, which is very spectacular. However, be cautious of the sun and potential sunburn during daytime dips.
Mamashita Coast, Torijima

Mamashita Coast, Torijima

This coast is connected to Torijima. During low tide, you can walk to Torijima to explore further scenery.
Mamashita Coast

Mamashita Coast

The sand on the beach, similar to the sand in the museum, is vibrant. With quartz embedded in the sand, you can observe its transparent quality. The entire beach is filled with sparkling sand, so beautiful!
Water park

Water park

This park features a small waterfall and incorporates stone and water as its theme. Glass decorations in the park are noteworthy, being famous products of Niijima.
Maehama Coast

Maehama Coast

The scenery here is delightful, with clear sea and sky colors. The seawater exhibits two shades, sea blue and green blue, creating a breathtakingly beautiful sight.
Rest house

Rest house

Apart from offering delicious food, this restaurant also features a live band performing in the park outside, creating a first-class atmosphere.
Niijima Cream Soda

Niijima Cream Soda

The color of this drink is inspired by the gradation of blue seen on the coast, as if the sea is being put into the cup for you to drink.

The scenery along this coast is also exceptionally beautiful, providing ample opportunities for stunning photos!
Niijima Airport

Niijima Airport

There is a 40-minute flight from Niijima to Tokyo with only 19 seats available. Each passenger is allowed a luggage limit of 5 kg, making it very convenient. Souvenirs at the airport are mostly crafted from the specialty glass of Niijima. This officially concludes the trip to Tokyo’s outlying islands.
