Day 1
Ome Station
I headed to Ome Station, a little over an hour train ride from Shinjuku. It's a town with a very Showa era style, and lots of old movie posters decorate the station.
Osomatsu-kun at Ome Station
Feeling like I had gone back in time, I walked along toward the Ome Akatsuka Fujio Kaikan Museum! Osomatsu-kun is incredibly popular right now (I also watch it), and since you can
see Akatsuka's original drawings, I just had to go. And it's only 450 yen for adults.
Ome Akatsuka Fujio Kaikan Museum
First off, it's time to learn from Akatsuka. Sheee!!!!
Enmei-ji
There was a lucky mallet there, so I gave it a shake. I'm on the small size and it weights 10 kg. I made a wish (for lots of money) and gave it a shake. It appears that if you think
wicked thoughts when shaking it, disasters will strike instead of good luck. But, me wanting money isn't wicked. It's a pure hearted wish, so I'm okay, right?
Iwakura Hot Spring Mamadaya
I was so happy when I entered my room and saw the kotatsu. And then I couldn't bear myself to come out from it... A futon is great, but with a heater, too...it makes me want to give
the inventor of the kotatsu 10,000 yen.
Dinner at Mamadaya
Here it is! Grilled yamame (trout) from the Tama River. The aromatic skin and the succulent, soft white flesh.
Dinner at Mamadaya
The shrimp tempura is so fresh and bursts with flavor in ones' mouth. And not only is the food wonderful but so is the service. I felt my heart being purified, the friendly service
conveying the hot and fresh feeling of the food. Now, it's time to soak in the hot spring. Ahh, Ome is great.
Serialized in SPA!, anan, etc., she also appears as a commentator on Sukkiri!, Minna no News, etc.
